Maybank Highway and Folly Road on James Island

The City of Charleston has been working for many years to improve the intersection of Folly Road and Maybank Highway on James Island. Glatting Jackson’s solution provides a network of options for drivers so that they will not have to depend on one main intersection to get to their destination. As the image shows, with good redevelopment, secondary streets through commercial areas would give drivers ways to easily enter Folly Road from Maybank Highway and vice versa.

These new redevelopments would also enhance the shopping and dining options for residents in the Northern part of James Island and for closeby West Ashley residents. New office space could open up more local jobs. Residents would spend less time in the traffic because of better driving choices and because they would have access to more local, close by establishments.
